- KLIA Ekspres (Airport Train)
KLIA Ekspres is a non-stop airport rail link service in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, linking Kuala Lumpur Sentral (KL Sentral) with KLIA and KLIA2. The journey takes just 30 minutes to KLIA and 33 minutes to KLIA2, operating at 15-minute intervals during peak hours and 20 minutes during off-peak hours.
You can catch this train at Level 1 and it will take you all the way down to KL Sentral – a one-way trip will cost RM55 while a round-trip ticket is RM100. Once you have arrived in KL Sentral, it is very convenient to hop on a KTM Komuter, LRT, Monorail or even taxi, to get to your chosen destination.
2. KLIA Transit
Besides the KLIA Express there is also the KLIA Transit. In contrast to the KLIA Express, the KLIA Transit stops at three other stations between KLIA and KL Sentral; Bandar Tasik Selatan, Putrajaya & Cyberjaya, and Salak Tinggi. The KLIA Transit train is mainly used by people that live in Kuala Lumpur but work outside the city; mostly in Putrajaya and Cyberjaya.
The KLIA Transit will take a bit longer than the KLIA Express. This train leaves every 35 minutes from the airport and from KL Sentral which longer waiting time than the KLIA Express. Both KLIA Transit and KLIA Ekspress train stations are located at Level 1 of the KLIA Main Terminal Building, while the KLIA2 station is set at Level 2 of Gateway @ KLIA2 Shopping Mall.
3. Airport Bus Shuttle
The airport bus shuttles operate at 30-minute intervals. Offering daily non-stop point-to-point shuttle from KL Sentral to KLIA, and will costs you RM10 for one way and RM18 for a return ticket, and the best part is that selected bus services will even take you to any hotel situated in Kuala Lumpur city center. The only downside to this bus ride is that it will take you almost 1,5 hours to get there.
The metered taxis are available at levels 1 and 3 of the Main Terminal Building. An MYR 2 coupon purchase is required prior to boarding these taxis. Do note that a 50% surcharge will be added for taxi services between 00:00 and 06:00. You can always opt for grab. A one-way grab ride will cost u MYR 65 excluding toll charges will cost u around MYR 68-75.
